Veteran Iranian director Masoud Rashidi passed away at the age of 68.

The Veteran Iranian director Masoud Rashidi passed away at the age of 68.

The director of iFilm’s series ‘A Heart of Ice’, ‘The Transparent Night’, and ‘It Might Happen to You’ passed away after a long period of illness on Saturday due to a heart stroke.

Born on June 5, 1957 in Harsin, Kermanshah Province, Rashidi graduated in Applied Statistics from Shahid Beheshti University.

He began his career by making a number of short films and partaking in national and international film festivals.

As a director assistant, he started with the movie ‘All My Children’ in 1984. He was director assistant of some other works such as Daryoush Mehrjouee’s ‘Hamoon’ (1989) and ‘The Lady’ (1991).

In 1992, Rashidi directed his first TV series. His series ‘Fight against Fate’ was the most popular series of 1998 in Iran.

He directed several series, including ‘Alone in Darkness’ (1999), ‘Seven Treasures’ (2001), ‘Nice Taste of Childhood’ (2002), ‘Farman’ (2002), ‘Spring Rain’  (2005), ‘Golrizan’ (Fundraising) (2007), and ‘Yalda’ (2008).

Rashidi also directed some made-for-TV films such as ‘Be My Mother’ (2007), ‘The Long Day’ (2009), ‘Here is no Stranger’ (2009), and ‘Youth Passion’ (2010).
